Automated Test Equipment

Test equipment is often overlook but plays an important role in Verification. I designed this for a custom radio system; fully synthetic GPS generation with RF up/down converters, arbitary waveform generation and attenuation.

Ready for Action!

National Instruments really makes some nice hardware, normally this would be rack of equipment but the PXIe-1065 chassis makes it easy to ship across the country. To allow multiple units to be tested simultaneously a custom interconnect was designed to break out the PXIe's multiplexer into the DUT's native interconnect for improved durability and reliability.

This was taken in our environmental chamber during qualification testing. Running 8 units simultaneously really sped things up.

Spectral Analysis

I wrote the software using LabWindows, similar to their LabView environment but far more deterministic.

Passed!

It's always nice to know a product is working properly when it leaves the factory!
